The Sugar Bowl is on January 2nd at 8:30 p.m. EST. It’s played in New Orleans and this year is between Alabama and Oklahoma. The fact that the game is in New Orleans means that fans from both teams will flock to the city at least 2 days ahead of time to part take in New Year’s Eve festivities and all that Bourbon Street has to offer. Chances are, most fans will sleep on New Year’s Day (hopefully not in the street) in order to get ready to hang all day on the 2nd! Ok, back to the game….
I know I should be grateful that Alabama is in a BCS Bowl game and that I sound like a spoiled brat because they are not in the championship game. Well…I really don’t care. It’s not so much that we are not in the championship game as much as it is HOW we lost our chance. It still makes me throw up a little bit, but I’ll get over it.
Anyway, Alabama is favored by 15 1/2 points and is just on paper the better team. Saban signed a long term contract with Alabama, so he’s not going anywhere..and we are all pretty excited about that. Tide fans have already descended upon New Orleans to get ready to give AJ the sendoff he deserves. The teams are being led by two of the best coaches in the country. Oklahoma is coming into the game after one of their best seasons in recent years. Alabama hasn’t played a game since their heartbreaking defeat in the Iron Bowl. If Alabama doesn’t bring their heart and soul into the game, Oklahoma could pull off the upset…but I can’t bring myself to elaborate on that….
