Kick it through the Uprights in Football

Kick it through the Uprights

Football Concept:

When a team decides their chance of getting in the end zone for a touch down is far less than kicking a field goal on 4th down, they will kick a field goal. A successful field goal must go through the yellow looking poles at the end of the field often called the uprights.

How the saying can beĀ used in real life:

Saying this is a form of encouragement. The other players or coaches might give these words of encouragement to the kicker before he runs on the field. The next time you want to say, ‘break a leg’ try saying, ‘kick it through the uprights.’
