Alabama Football – 2013
The Summary: Alabama has won 3 of the last 4 BCS Championships and is looking for a “Three-peat.” If they pull it off, it will be the first time in BCS History. Are the Alabama fans excited about the prospects of another great season? Absolutely!! Is just about everyone else in the country hoping someone will come and knock them off their well deserved pedestal? Of course.
The Big Changes: Mario Cristobal is the new offensive line coach, as well as three new starters on the OL. They are responsible for blocking so the rest of the offense can do their job without getting tackled!
The Outlook: Alabama has 8 defensive starters returning from last year. Last yeer’s defense only allowed an average of 250 yards per game so you should expect great things from the line this season! C.J. Mosley, an All-American Linebacker and HaHa Clinton-Dix, preseason All SEC Safety, are a force to be reckoned with. AJ McCarron, senior starting quarterback, is no doubt going to continue to lead the team to victory after victory with his superior passing abilities.
The Tide’s Biggest Challenge: Keeping their focus and intensity each week. They are an amazing team and have the physical skills to go all the way, but can they handle the pressure?
My Prediction: I am confident in Saban, McCarron and the rest of the Tide. I’m going with an undefeated season, an SEC Championship win against UGA and another National Championship.
The Talking Points / One Liners:
- I wonder if AJ will finally win the Heisman.
- The SEC is still the dominating Conference over the past decade
- Saban: Love him or hate him, he is a coach who demands respect…Discuss!
Roll Tide!!! Have a great season!
“I’d love to say Denise is wrong, but I still don’t have confidence anyone can beat Bama this year, not with the returning defense, Saban and McCarron still around. I could dream of a GaTech undefeated season somehow allowing them to make it to a BCS Championship game against the Tide, but, well, I hate to see a swarm of pesky insects get trampled by the giant elephant in the room. So, all I’ve got is, ‘Really, HaHa Clinton-Dix?! Really?’- Melissa”
